W32/Daonol.AK is very buggy and prevent Windows from starting or shutting down properly, thus a black screen of death is the only thing the user can sees. We found that computer can get infected from Website.

W32/Daonol.AK Characteristics and Symptoms

• User can see only black screen and a mouse when PC starts up

Removal Instruction

1. Update and scan your computer with updated signature. In the case of ESET it should be 4849 at least.

2. Use our cleaning tool which you find at http://www.eset.co.th/th/support/download/doc_download/37-win32daonol

3. Click on Start - Run and then type "cmd" and press Enter, accessing Windows command line.

4. Type in "ESETDaonolCleaner.exe c:\ -clean" from where you save cleaning tool and press Enter

5. Delete all temp files from "C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User>\Local Settings\Temp"

6. Restart machine
